Question 1

Where exactly is Sri Lanka?

Accepted Answer

Sri Lanka is a tropical island nation in the Indian Ocean, just off the south-eastern tip of India — about a 4½-hour direct flight from the UAE.

Question 2

When is the best time to visit?

Accepted Answer

Sri Lanka has two monsoons, so there's always a sunny side. December to March is ideal for the south and west coasts and the hill country; April to September suits the east coast (Pasikudah, Trincomalee). The Cultural Triangle is pleasant most of the year. Tell us your dates and we'll route you to the best weather.

Question 3

How do I get there?

Accepted Answer

International flights land at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), near Colombo and Negombo. Our representative meets you on arrival and handles every transfer from there.

Question 4

Is Sri Lanka safe for tourists?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Sri Lanka is a welcoming, popular destination for families, couples and solo travellers. As anywhere, use normal precautions with valuables and follow local advice. Our team is reachable 24/7 on WhatsApp throughout your trip.

Question 5

Do I need a visa?

Accepted Answer

Most nationalities need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arriving. Requirements and fees change from time to time, so check the official Sri Lanka ETA website before you travel — we're happy to help you with it.

Question 6

What currency is used, and can I use cards?

Accepted Answer

The currency is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). Cards are accepted at hotels, malls and larger restaurants; carry some cash for markets, tuk-tuks and small towns. ATMs are easy to find in cities.

Question 7

Accepted Answer

Sinhala and Tamil are the official languages, and English is widely spoken in hotels, shops and tourist areas.

Question 8

Accepted Answer

Five to seven days covers highlights like Kandy, the hill country and a beach; ten to fifteen days lets you see the ancient cities, safaris, tea country and both coasts at a relaxed pace. Every itinerary can be shortened or extended.

Question 9

Is Sri Lanka expensive to visit?

Accepted Answer

It's excellent value. Comfortable hotels, great food and private transport cost far less than in many destinations, and there are options for every budget — from boutique villas to simple guesthouses. We'll quote a plan that fits yours.

Question 10

Which area should I stay in?

It depends on what you love: Colombo for city life, Galle for colonial charm and beaches, Kandy for culture and tea country, Ella for hiking and views, Sigiriya for ancient sites, and Trincomalee or Pasikudah for calm east-coast swimming.

Golden beaches, eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, wild elephants and leopards, misty tea plantations, scenic train rides — and some of the most flavourful food in Asia.
